Timothy Seekings

Timothy Seekings is currently a post-doctoral research fellow at the Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences, National Science and Technology Council, Taiwan. He holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies and a Master’s in Humanity and Environmental Science from National Dong Hwa University in Hualien. He has lived and worked in Germany, Indonesia, England, China, and since 2014 calls Taiwan his home. His research interest lies in sustainable food systems, alternative proteins and, more generally, in the sociology of food. He is co-founder and director of the research project C. Canteen that investigates the potential of edible insects in sustainable food systems through participatory action research. He has published in various magazines including The Ecologist as well as in international and national journals and maintains a Substack where writes about a wide range of topics.
